Bolivarian Government rejects decision adopted by the US to dispossess Citgo

The Government of Venezuela rejected the decision of the United States Supreme Court that validates the dispossession of the Citgo Petroleum Corporation company (Citgo), a Venezuelan refinery based in Houston; and denounces that the action violates the agreements signed in Barbados.

This was announced by the Minister of Communication and Information, Freddy Ñañez, through his account on the X social network, in which can be read: ” The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejects the decision adopted by the US Supreme Court of Justice in relation to the vulgar dispossession that is taking place in that country against the CITGO company.”

A communiqué, posted in the publication, states that the measure constitutes an additional step in the multiform aggression that is carried out by the institutions of the United States against Venezuela, “with the purpose of plundering the Venezuelan people of the assets that belong to it.”

Following, the communiqué:

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejects the decision adopted by the US Supreme Court of Justice in relation to the vulgar dispossession that is taking place in that country against the CITGO company.

This decision constitutes an additional step in the multiform aggression that is carried out by the institutions of the United States against Venezuela, with the purpose of plundering the Venezuelan people of the assets that belong to it, in a clear transgression of the rules that govern the pacific coexistence between states.

Likewise, this decision of the Supreme Court confirms the great damage caused to the interests and heritage of the Venezuelan People by the criminal action of the organized crime group self-called “National Assembly of 2015” that, since 2019 has intended to usurp the institutions and the representation of the Republic abroad.

With this action they have impeded the legitimate authorities from exerting the necessary actions for the effective protection of CITGO within the US territory, flagrantly violating the agreements subscribed in Barbados.

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela ratifies it will continue adopting all the political, diplomatic and legal measures at its disposition in order to prevent the consummation of the definitive dispossession of the CITGO company, while at the same time it will continue demanding to the bodies of the Venezuelan system of justice to establish the corresponding sanctions against those responsible for the theft of this asset of great importance for the present and future of the Venezuelan men and women.
