Bolivarian Government launched Cacique Guaicaipuro Liberation Operation in the Tocorón prison

The Government of Venezuela reported this early Wednesday that it launched a security operation to put an end to what it called organized crime gangs and other criminal networks that operated from the Tocorón Penitentiary Center, in Aragua State, north of the country.

This is the so-called “Cacique Guaicaipuro Liberation Operation” whose objective is, according to a statement from the Venezuelan Government, “to dismantle and put an end to organized crime gangs and other criminal networks that operated from the Tocorón Penitentiary Center, to the detriment of the tranquility of the Venezuelan people.”

In that same sense, they point out that the operation is part of “the citizen security policy of the Peace Quadrants and within the framework of our doctrine of civic-military-police union”, with which they intend to “end this scourge and thus fulfill the sacred mission to protect the people.”

Following, the full text of the communiqué:

The Bolivarian Government informs the population that the Cacique Guaicaipuro Liberation Operation, in its first phase, has been a total success, and congratulates the Peace Quadrants for the clean and immediate restitution of order and absolute control of the Tocorón Penitentiary Center by the institutions. Likewise, it informs that this penitentiary center will undergo a restructuring process and will be completely vacated.

It should be noted that during the effective operation, a conspiracy and crime center was dismantled, used by an international criminal network against the Venezuelan population.

The Bolivarian Government thanks the country for the spirit of unity demonstrated in this fight to defend social peace.
