Venezuela registers 63% growth in exports of goods

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported that according to data recorded by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), at the end of 2022, Venezuela ranks second in the percentage variation of the growth of exports of goods of all of Latin America and the Caribbean, which allows registering a growth of 63%.

Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago ranks first with 69% growth in exports of goods, mainly in the food area, while Colombia ranks third with 49%; to yield an average in the region of 43%.

In this sense, he pointed out that in imports Ecuador ranks first with 41%, Suriname ranks second with 40% and Jamaica third with 39%.

And in the last places with barely 12% -of imports- Venezuela. It means that we have reversed the trend, I can say that according to these data from ECLAC, our country is beginning to be a diversified country that exports and begins to substitute imports and produce what we imported before”, asserted the Dignitary.

“First steps and achievements for Venezuela to become an exporter of goods, we are on the right path, we are on the right side of history (…) Venezuela begins to substitute imports,” he asserted.

The information was released by the President, during the journey called Productive Socialism dedicated to showing the achievements of the country’s economy, from Miraflores Palace, located in Caracas.
