President Nicolás Maduro Moros thanked all the signs of solidarity that have come from around the world, in the face of the tragedy that occurred in the town of Las Tejerías, as a result of the stormy rains caused by climate change:
“I appreciate the shows of solidarity that have crossed borders and that reach the depths of the hearts of Venezuelans in the face of the unfortunate tragedy of Las Tejerías, after the rainfalls. As peoples we will always be united facing adverse situations”, he wrote this Monday in a message on his @NicolasMaduro account.
On Saturday, October 8, there was a landslide caused by torrential rainfalls that caused the overflow of five streams in Las Tejerías, Santos Michelena municipality of Aragua state, producing a large number of fatalities, estimated at 36, as well as missing persons and large material losses.
