MP initiated extradition process against fugitive Rafael Ramírez

This Friday, Attorney General Tarek William Saab announced that the Public Ministry began the active extradition process against the former Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Rafael Ramírez, for his involvement in Operation Atlantic and the money laundering scheme in Andorra, as a result of corruption.

In this sense, Saab explained that the extradition process was also initiated against Nervis Villalobos, former Vice Minister of Electric Power, for his involvement in the same act of corruption.

Likewise, he reported that after the presentation hearing the denunciation was made, in which the former vice president of finance Víctor Aular detailed that Rafael Ramírez and Nervis Villalobos conspired to force him to sign the contract with the Atlantic administrator.

Saab offered new revelations about the embezzlement from PDVSA, which consisted of the simulation of a loan in bolivars to PDVSA, which was later paid in dollars, with damage to the Republic of 4.85 billion dollars.
