Gustavo Petro proposes to reintegrate Venezuela into the Andean Community

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, proposed to the Andean Community (CAN) to reintegrate Venezuela and Chile into the regional bloc, of which they were full members in the past:

We must be more powerful, gather more voices. The requests from Chile and Venezuela must be taken into account. To go back to the first stage of the Andean Community, when they integrated this instrument”, said Petro during his participation in the 22nd Meeting of the Andean Presidential Council, which is being held in Lima, Peru, and in which participate his counterparts from Bolivia, Luis Arce, from Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, and from Peru, Pedro Castillo,

The Colombian president also suggested the incorporation of Argentina, assuring that if this country joins “it will be better” for the regional organization.
