Hinterlaces: 57% of Venezuelans trust that Maduro will solve the country’s economic problems

The director of the Hinterlaces polling company, Oscar Schémel, revealed on Monday that, according to a latest poll conducted by this pollster, 57% of the Venezuelans consulted trust that the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, can solve the country’s economic problems:

“The President has been taking difficult economic measures”, said the analyst in an interview with the TV program “360º”, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.

In this sense, he stressed that 75% of those consulted said they did not trust an opposition government to solve economic problems.

The reasons (as detailed the director of Hinterlaces) is because the opposition has shown “lack of leadership, corruption and lack of proposals:

The Venezuelans have matured enough to identify the weaknesses of the options”, he added.

Likewise, this same line of perception of the economy by Venezuelans, the analyst referred that in this same survey 61% of Venezuelans said that the economy is improving.

“In one year, the perception of economic improvement in the country has doubled”, said Schémel, adding that “qualitatively, there are people who say that (President Maduro) is doing things, but they want the president to do more”.

“The majority of Venezuelans ask the president to do more”, reiterated the sociologist: “The president’s positive assessment is on the rise, but people want more”, he said.
