The First International Coffee Meeting will show the world the extraordinary quality, characteristics and height of the Venezuelan coffee, said on Tuesday the Minister of People’s Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Wilmar Castro Soteldo:
«The Venezuelan coffee is going to compete with products from other parts of the world, those that already have a long way to go in this type of event”, he said from a preparatory meeting with coffee growers from all over the country held in Biscucuy, Portuguesa state.
The international meeting of Venezuelan coffee, will be held on May 5, 6 and 7 at the Circulo Militar (Military Circle) facilities in Caracas, and will bring together for the first time the best producers from across the country: “We have already passed 65,000 registered producers”, explained the Minister.
The agricultural minister explained that the Venezuelan coffee is produced at more than 1,000 meters of altitude, a condition that makes it special: «that does not happen in the whole world,» he commented.
He added that the event will allow to measure the impact of the policies of the government of President Nicolas Maduro in the sector, he said that he is obliged from the agricultural portfolio to follow up so that quality is not lost, and so that production is increased, “and so we go growing among all producers,» he said.
