President Nicolás Maduro appoints José Biomorgi as Minister of Industries and National Production

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, endorsed Decree No. 4,621 by means of which he appoints citizen José Gregorio Biomorgi as Minister of People’s Power of Industries and National Production.

By virtue of this appointment published in the Official Gazette, Biomorgi assumes the competencies inherent to the aforementioned post, in accordance with the current legal system.

The new Minister for Industries and National Production has a degree in Chemistry from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), with a Master’s degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science at the UCV.

He holds a Label Europeen Doctorate from Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse, France) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, (Trondheim, Norway); in addition to a PhD in Macromolecular and Supramolecular Chemistry, from the Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France.

Since 2002, Biomorgi has held important positions in the national government, starting at the Venezuelan Technological Institute of Petroleum.

In 2018 he was appointed Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Syrian Arab Republic and in recent months he has held the position as Vice Minister of Industrial Development of the Ministry of People’s Power of Industries and National Production.

Biomorgi will replace citizen Jorge Arreaza, who has been nominated by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and other organizations of the Great Patriotic Pole as a candidate for the Governor of Barinas state, whose elections will be held on January 9.
