COVID: Alert with the 3rd Wave! Venezuela reported 1,326 new cases

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported that in the last 24 hours, 1,296 new infections by covid-19 were registered throughout the country.

During the presentation of the weekly balance of the fight against Covid-19, the national president explained that the entities with the highest number of new cases this Sunday are: Miranda state (514 cases), Caracas (253), Carabobo (226), Nueva Esparta (111) and La Guaira state (94 cases).

In this sense, he affirmed that only Caracas, Miranda, La Guaira and Carabobo states account for 75% of the cases of covid-19 throughout the entire country:

“Cases have increased in Caracas, La Guaira, Miranda and Carabobo states, only these four entities account for 75% of the total cases nationwide, this register raised the rate of active cases to 31 per 100,000 inhabitants”, said Maduro.

The national president pointed out that given the behavior of the contagion curve, “everything seems to indicate that we have a 3rd wave in Caracas, Miranda, La Guaira and Carabobo states“, a situation on which he urged the population to increase compliance with bio-sanitary protection measures in order to counteract any potential contagion by Covid 19.

In the same way, he recalled that although it is being evaluated to achieve a total flexibility throughout the country for the months of November and December, this decision could be restricted and then maintain the 7 + 7 scheme with quarantine weeks “in those entities that maintain a rate of contagion of more than 30 cases per 100,000 inhabitants”.

For this reason, he insisted on the need to increase personal awareness and avoid neglect in compliance with the protection measures against Covid-19.
