President Maduro welcomed “Kid” Gutiérrez at Miraflores Palace

President Nicolás Maduro Moros welcomed this Thursday at Miraflores Palace the Venezuelan boxer, Roger “Kid” Gutiérrez, Super Feather Champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) who retained his title after defeating Nicaraguan René Alvarado by unanimous decision in a combat played at the Ford Center Frisco in Texas, United States.

Accompanied by the first combatant woman Cilia Flores and the Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, the Head of State shared pleasant moments with the outstanding Venezuelan boxer who has placed the national tricolor at the top of the world championships.

The «Kid» Gutiérrez dominated the cards of his defense meeting of the WBA Super Feather world belt, with a unanimous score of 116-112, 116-112 and 115-113 to maintain his professional record with 23 victories, 20 of them by knockout and 3 losses.

The “Kid” Gutiérrez won the WBA Super Feather crown in January this year against Alvarado and made his first successful defense against the Nicaraguan.

The 26-year-old boxer from Zulia state has seven consecutive wins and is currently waiting for offers to expose his crown again.
