COVID, Day 532: 953 new infections were registered in the last 24 hours

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that in the last 24 hours there have been 953 new positive cases for Covid 19 throughout the country.

The entity with the highest number of registered cases was Miranda state with 293 active infections in 16 municipalities, followed by Caracas, with 118 cases and Nueva Esparta with 102 cases:

Unfortunately, in the last hours we have 12 deaths by COVID19: 3 women 89, 88 and 81 years old, and 2 men 68 and 63 years old in Caracas; a85 years old man and 4 women 83, 82, 83 and 27 years old in Miranda; a 59-year-old man in Apure and a 66-year-old man in Aragua state”, she indicated in an informative thread published through her @delcyrodriguezv account on the Twitter social network.

Likewise, she informed that from this Monday, August 30 and until next Sunday, September 5, a new week of (quarantine) flexibility will be completed under the 7 + 7 scheme.

She finally recalled that, according to what was announced by President Nicolás Maduro, starting this week and in the face of the threat of the Delta variant, immunization journeys will be increased, tripling the application of vaccines throughout the country, in order to comply with the goal of reaching 70% of the vaccinated population before October, with a view to returning face-to-face classes throughout the national territory.

She finally exhorted the entire population to comply with all biosafety rules: “Consciousness and prevention are key!”, she concluded.
