President Nicolás Maduro asks to evaluate total flexibility in the country

The Constitutional President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, announced this Wednesday that he is reviewing the possibility of eliminating the 7 + 7 (strict quarantine) scheme, in order to go to a broad and conscious relaxation in the country.

I’ve been thinking about loosening up widely and trusting that people will take care of themselves. I ask the Presidential Commission for Covid to study this proposal, I think it is time to go to a new phase and let the people move freely”, he said from the facilities of Industria Avelino C.A. in the Guarenas-Guatire axis of Miranda state, where he led a new productive Wednesday journey.

During this activity dedicated to agricultural production and the strengthening of agribusiness, the Head of State considered that Venezuela could enter into a phase of open monitored flexibility and eliminate 7 + 7, so that “people move freely, trade and work given that we reached 22 covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants”.

In this regard, he announced that next Sunday he could give announcements related to this new phase: “Maybe on Sunday we will make an announcement for the whole country, I think the time has come”, he said.

Faced with this possibility, the national president urged the Venezuelan population to increase compliance with anti-Covid measures, to avoid crowds and social gatherings, to ensure the containment of the virus throughout the country.
