Maduro: Mafia governing Colombia is the biggest threat to Latin America

During his speech at the act of transmission of command at the Strategic Operational Command of the FANB, Ceofanb, President Nicolás Maduro instructed all components and members of the FANB to maintain maximum alert against new terrorist plans against the country that are being prepared from Colombia:

“I announce that in the coming days we will present new evidences of mercenaries who are being prepared and entering from Colombia to come and carry out acts of hired assassination and violence in Venezuela,” he said.

He added that these are new elements of what is being planned in Colombia by the mafia that governs that country against peace and stability in Venezuela.

Real threat for the whole continent:

In this regard, he indicated that Colombia has become a machine that exports mercenaries; “a real, credible and objective threat”, he pointed out in reference to the assassination of the President of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse, and the participation of paramilitaries in violent actions in Caracas.

He made reference to the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise, with responsibility of “mercenaries of the Colombian army in an active situation, assassinating a President in a sisterly Homeland”, as well as the presence of “mercenaries captured in the Cota 905 (neighborhood in Caracas), training criminals and terrorists in Venezuela.”

“There they (Colombia) go, an army of mercenaries, a country that exports violence and terrorism, the greatest threat that Latin America and the Caribbean have today is the mafia that is in power in Colombia”, warned the Venezuelan Head of State.

He affirmed the Colombian government “must have known about the preparation of this group of mercenaries to commit this crime in Haiti, they knew it and they have to acknowledge it”.

He recalled that the company that hired the mercenaries for the assassination in Haiti is owned by a Venezuelan residing in Miami, United States, who is also a friend of fugitive Leopoldo López and former deputy Juan Guaidó.

A great victory against Colombian paramilitarism:

In view of this threat, he insisted that “that mafia that is in power (in Colombia) exports drugs, death, mercenaries, murderers, and has our beloved, noble and peaceful Bolivarian Homeland in its sights. So, Bolivarian Army, (be on) permanent alert,” he concluded.

In this context, he congratulated Admiral Carmen Meléndez, M/G Estrada, commander of the Bolivarian National Police “and the fighters of all the Security agencies that went to fight for the peace and protection of our people”.

“We have just obtained a great success in the fight against criminal, terrorist gangs, formed, financed and armed by Colombian paramilitarism in Cota 905 and its surroundings. Leopoldo López personally directs those groups from Spain, one of them, the one that has been defeated by the weapons of the Republic in the last 72 hours, A Great Victory!”, he emphasized.

Active deployment:

President Nicolás Maduro indicated that at this hour “the security bodies of the State remain after the search for the ringleaders of the gang and the remaining paramilitaries, who are fleeing”.

“At this time all those arrested in Operation Gran Cacique Guaicaipuro are testifying”, he assured.

He warned that, of the criminals killed, “10 do not have Venezuelan fingerprints registration, which makes us presume that they are part of the Colombian paramilitaries who were in the area”.

“Since several months ago, more than 20 Colombian paramilitaries remained in the southwest of Caracas, training and executing violent plans, there are three Colombian paramilitaries detained, but they declare that there were more than 20 of them in there for months”, he concluded.
