The entire leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) is obliged to guarantee that the bases are the ones that select the candidates for the mega-elections of November 21, 2021, as stated by Francisco Ameliach, vice president for the Integral Defense of the Nation of the PSUV.
During an interview on the Venezuelan State’s television station, Ameliach reported that according to article 50 of the regulations of the process of consultation and election of the candidates of the PSUV to the positions of governors, mayors, legislators to the Legislative Councils of the states, and councilors to the Municipal Councils, available on the psuv.org.ve website, is considered a serious offense and is grounds for expulsion from the party, any action of intimidation, pressure and threat, aimed at impede the right of militants to freely nominate male and female candidates before the assembly of their Hugo Chávez Electoral Battle Unit (UBCH):
“In here there is no line of any kind, in here who is going to decide who the candidate is, is the base gathered at the UBCHs; it is also a serious fault to demand a screenshot of the ballot to support the application in any communication telephone”, assured the vice-president for the Integral Defense of the Nation of the PSUV, Francisco Ameliach.
He invited the entire militancy to review and study the regulations, so that they know all the bases of the first phase of the process called recently by the president of the PSUV, Nicolás Maduro Moros.
