Bicentennial Congress engages all social forces in the country

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, offered this Thursday a balance of the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples, a political initiative which he assured has been consolidated as a process to bring together and empower all the social forces of the country.

During his speech on this day, he affirmed that the Bicentennial Congress has taken place “in times of sacrifice and social struggle.”

He also assured that during the revolutionary process, never before have so many social movements been articulated as this Congress has made possible.

Older adults, youth, women, health, Clap, communicators, socialist missions, culture, sports, businessmen, militiamen, indigenous people, fishermen, people with disabilities, agricultural producers, environmentalists, Afro-descendants, military in active reserve, the Vuelta A La Patria (Return to the Homeland) movement of Venezuelans”, said the President when naming some of the 41 sectors that actively participate in this initiative.

To Love Venezuela:

Similarly, he reiterated his invitation to all Venezuelans to participate in the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples: “We already have more than 8 million members grouped in 41 active social movements, the only requirements are to be Venezuelan and to love Venezuela”, said Maduro.

Among some guidelines offered by President Maduro, he highlighted his request for the installation of three Presidential Councils of Government to carry out the necessary tasks in the country, especially those related to the bicentennial celebration.

For his part, the governor of Miranda state and (also) coordinator of the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples, explained that “more than 8,339,844 persons have registered and half of them are senior citizens”.

“More than 30 Presidential Councils, more than 2,400 communes and 306 with work teams have already been formed, that is, 75% of the organizations involved in the Congress”, he said.

Rodríguez highlighted the realization of more than 700 murals throughout the country, to date, as well as the realization of 86 sectoral meetings and videoconferences with each of the movements articulated in the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples.

For his part, Pedro Infante, spokesman for the National Commission of Congress, reported that among the preparations for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo, the Bicentennial Torch is currently touring Delta Amacuro state.
