President Maduro instructed to achieve a 100% digital economy this year

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, assured this Wednesday that Venezuela is moving towards a 100% digital economy.

During a new Productive Wednesday journey, the Head of State explained that in order to achieve the goal of a 100 percent digital economy, “we will establish applications for mobile devices, for new forms of payment of the digital bolivar, an element to overcome the dirty war against the country’s currency”.

In this regard, he assured that the Patria System has consolidated itself as an advanced digital economy system that, together with online banking, “comes to bring the benefit of fast and on-time payment.”

“I have great faith in the work that is being done in the new economy of the 21st century, we must articulate with producers more and more, so that the producer does not lack anything”, reported the National President.

In the same way, he indicated that the digitization of the currency will strengthen the national economic system on the way to stabilizing the national productive apparatus and for greater benefits of the Venezuelan people.

C2P payment system:

In this sense, he announced the entry into force of the new “C2P” – commerce to people – payment system that will facilitate payments digitally in all commercial sectors and to which all banks, public and private, will be integrated within the framework of the 100% Digital Banking plan:

We are building the digital Bolívar; I could say today, looking at the statistics, that Venezuela is at the forefront of the world in the digital economy and in the creation of the digital economy, in the conversion of the Bolívar to the digital Bolívar. We are at the forefront of the world”, said the head of state.

He also mentioned the possibility the citizens have to make deposits in foreign currencies: “We are strengthening the national banking by creating accounts with instruments in convertible currencies.”

Among the banks on which can already be made deposits in foreign currencies are: Banco de Venezuela, Banco del Tesoro, Banco Nacional de Crédito, Banca Amiga, Banco Mercantil, Banco de la Fanb, Provincial, Banco Bicentenario and Banco del Pueblo.
