President Maduro: Cruel methods have been applied to Venezuela in order to surrender an entire country

“A cruel method of dealing with suffering and necessity has been applied to Venezuela to provoke what the international community calls a regime change, to surrender an entire country, and that will never happen,” said the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

During a press conference with international media from Miraflores Palace in Caracas, President Maduro signed the report of the United Nations Special Rapporteur for Human Rights, Alena Douhan, which states that the sanctions imposed by the outgoing government of the United States had a devastating effect on Venezuela’s economic structure.

In this sense, the national leader reiterated that the damage caused by the administration of Donald Trump left “festering wounds in the social and economic life in the country, which we have been gradually alleviating, had it not been for the System of Missions and Large Missions, by the Carnet de la Patria (Homeland Card) and the CLAPs, Venezuela would be in an unprecedented and very compromised situation”.

Given the above, he argued that the Bolivarian nation resists against illegal sanctions because it has a system that responds to a social State for the welfare of the Venezuelan people, in this way the National Government guarantees public health, housing, rights to food and work.

Likewise, the head of state called on the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, to hold a press conference in the coming days to inform public opinion about the accusation of Venezuela before the International Criminal Court (ICC), in the issue of sanctions.

We are going to officially consign the preliminary report of the UN Human Rights Rapporteur, Alena Douhan, and also the document of the report of the GAO (The Government Responsibility Office). They are going to establish the story of the truth of how they have cruelly tortured Venezuela ”.
