COVID: Venezuela registers 673 new cases in the last 24 hours

Venezuela registered this Tuesday 673 new infections by Covid-19, of which 670 correspond to community transmission and 3 imported cases, coming from Mexico with entry through La Guaira, as announced the Sectoral Vice-president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez.

From his Twitter account @LuchaAlmada, he reported that “the community cases are distributed (by state) as follows: Zulia (155), Miranda (116), Capital District (88), Carabobo (75), Mérida (54), La Guaira (46), Táchira (41), Falcón (29), Nueva Esparta (16), Barinas (13), Lara (7), Yaracuy (6), Aragua (6), Guárico (6), among other states”.

The also Minister for Communication and Information highlighted that “Zulia state is today the entity with the highest number of infections in 9 of its municipalities: Maracaibo (89), Machiques de Perijá (22), San Francisco (12), Mara (10), Miranda (8), Jesús Enrique Lossada (7), Cabimas (5), Lagunillas (1), Cañada de Urdaneta (1)“.

He affirmed that in 310 days of the pandemic in Venezuela a total of 121,117 confirmed cases have been reached, of which 113,652 have recovered, giving a recovery rate of 94% of the infections.

“We have reached a total of 6,349 active cases, 6,158 are being treated within the public health system, 191 in private clinics and none in home isolation,” said Ñañez.

He also pointed out that “3,421 patients are asymptomatic, 2,464 with mild acute respiratory failure, 356 with moderate acute respiratory failure and 108 in intensive care units”.

“Unfortunately we report 4 deaths from this virus: 2 women aged 61 and 69 from Mérida state, a 64 years old man from Miranda state, a 38 years old man from Trujillo state. Condolences to their families and loved ones,” said the minister.

Finally, he emphasized that to date 2,514,620 tests have been performed, which represents 83,821 tests per million inhabitants.
