COVID: Venezuela registers 378 community and 50 imported cases

This Thursday, a total of 378 cases of community transmission of Covid-19 and 50 imported cases were detected by the Venezuelan health authorities, raising the total number of infections to 106,280, while the rate of recovered remains at 95 percent of total cases, by adding 101,384 healings with free treatments.

This was announced by the sectoral vice president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, through a publication on the Twitter social network, at the end of the daily meeting of the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of Covid-19.

In this sense, regarding the cases of community transmission, he explained that they are divided as follows:

Capital District: 112 new cases

Zulia: 54 new cases

Miranda: 51 new cases

Táchira: 39 new cases

Yaracuy: 33 new cases

La Guaira: 24 new cases

Amazonas: 17 new cases

Carabobo: 15 new cases

Apure: 11 new cases

Trujillo: 8 new cases

Aragua: 3 new cases

Nueva Esparta: 3 new cases

Merida: 2 new cases

Lara: 2 new cases

Barinas: 1 new case

Portuguesa: 1 new case

Falcón: 1 new case

Sucre: 1 new case

He highlighted that in the Capital District contagion cases were detected in 13 parishes: El Valle with 21, El Recreo with 21, San Juan with 17, La Vega with 9, Sucre with 8, Caricuao with 5, Coche with 4, La Candelaria with 3 , San Pedro with 2, Cathedral with 2, San Agustín with 2, El Paraíso with 2, Antímano with 2, Altagracia with 1 and Santa Teresa with 1.

Likewise, he added that, regarding imported cases: 26 come from Panama, 15 come from the Dominican Republic, 7 from Spain, 1 from Turkey and 1 from Curaçao.

Also, Ñáñez indicated that the active cases as of this Thursday are 3,958 active cases, of which 3,681 are being treated in the public health system, 26 in private clinics and 251 in home isolation.

In this regard, he specified that 2,312 of the patients are asymptomatic, 1,388 have mild Acute Respiratory Failure, 223 Moderate Acute Respiratory Failure and 35 are in intensive care units due to their serious condition.

As for the deceased, he regretted informing that five Venezuelans lost the battle against the virus: a 35-year-old man from Barinas state, a 74-year-old woman from Lara, an 86-year-old woman from Miranda, a 66-year-old man from Yaracuy and a 54-year-old man from Zulia state.

Ñáñez finally reported that there have been applied 2,337,527 tests, which is equivalent to 77,918 tests per million inhabitants.
