COVID: 946 community cases and 242 imported cases were detected in the last 24 hours

A total of 946 cases of community transmission of COVID-19 and 242 imported cases were detected in the last 24 hours by the Venezuelan health authorities, which raises the total number of infections to 56,751, of which 45,318 have been recovered after receiving free treatments, which equates to 80 percent of cases.

The information was released this Wednesday by the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, during a series of messages published through her account on the Twitter social network, at the end of the daily meeting of the Presidential Commission for Control and the Prevention of COVID-19.

Regarding the cases of community transmission, she explained that they focused on:

Capital District: 279 new cases in the 22 parishes of the capital city, concentrating the highest number of cases in the El Valle parish, with 42, Sucre (Catia) with 40 and San Juan with 19.

Nueva Esparta: 102 new cases.
Bolívar: 69 new cases.
Aragua: 55 new cases.
Carabobo: 44 new cases.
Guarico: 42 new cases.
Zulia: 40 new cases.
Miranda: 39 new cases.
La Guaira: 37 new cases.
Merida: 36 new cases.
Apure: 32 new cases.
Yaracuy: 28 new cases.
Barinas: 28 new cases.
Delta Amacuro: 27 new cases.
Sucre: 25 new cases.
Portuguesa: 19 new cases.
Falcón: 17 new cases.
Lara: 17 new cases.
Monagas: 8 new cases.
Cojedes: 2 new cases.

Regarding the imported cases, she indicated that 240 of them come from Colombia and 2 come from Brazil.

Rodríguez said that up to date there are 10,981 active cases, of which 7,166 are admitted into hospitals, 3,564 into Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and only 251 in private clinics.

For her part, she regretted reporting the death of eight people from the COVID-19 infection in the last hours, which raises the number of fatalities to 452. The deaths were a 63-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man from the Capital District; a 57-year-old man from Táchira state; a 46-year-old man from Mérida; a 64-year-old man from Anzoátegui, a 90-year-old man from Sucre; a 52-year-old man from Monagas and a 49-year-old woman from Cojedes state.

When referring to the number of tests for the screening of COVID-19, she referred that until this Wednesday there are 1,830,551 tests applied, which represents 61,018 tests per million inhabitants.

“We are in week 26 of combat against this lethal and highly contagious virus that plagues humanity. From the Bolivarian Government we are working tirelessly, complying with the instructions of Pdte. @NicolasMaduro to protect the health of our people”, he wrote in a last tweet.
