Venezuela congratulates Keith Rowley’s reelection as Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago

During a telephone conversation, President Nicolás Maduro congratulated on Monday to the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Rowley, for his recent re-election; they also exchanged experiences in the fight against Covid-19 and impressions of the bilateral agenda.

Through a statement issued by the Venezuelan Chancellory, both leaders pledged to coordinate their policies in this regard, both in the bilateral and multilateral spheres, as well as to deepen the historical relationship and strengthening the integration mechanisms of Latin America and the Caribbean.

“Today, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Rowley, held a telephone conversation, during which the President conveyed to the Prime Minister the congratulations on the recent electoral victory that revalidates him for a new period in office.

Both leaders exchanged experiences on their health care policies in the face of the expansion of the COVID-19 pandemic, and promised to coordinate their policies in this regard, both in the bilateral and multilateral spheres.

Likewise, within the framework of good neighborliness between the two countries, they exchanged views on various issues on the bilateral agenda, highlighting issues related to trade, as well as their policies on security, on which the leaders agreed to remain in close coordination.

The Heads of Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago agreed to maintain a comprehensive coordination between their governments at the highest level, as well as to deepen the historic bilateral relationship and strengthening the integration mechanisms of Latin America and the Caribbean.”
