Venezuela reports 861 cases and eight deaths from Covid-19 in one day

The Sectoral Vice President for Communication, Tourism and Culture, Jorge Rodríguez, reported this Wednesday that were detected 861 new Covid-19 cases, thus reaching 22,299 in national territory, of which 848 are of community transmission, and 13 imported.

Rodríguez reported that the cases are distributed as follows: 275 in the Capital District, 134 in Miranda state, 120 in Táchira, 52 in Zulia, 43 in Sucre, 38 in La Guaira, 38 in Carabobo, 37 in Mérida, 34 in Bolívar, 33 in Aragua, 11 in Nueva Esparta, (8) in Falcón, (6) in Amazonas, (5) in Monagas, (5) in Guárico, (4) in Barinas, (3) in Lara and (2) in Yaracuy state.

Of the imported cases, 11 are coming from Colombia and two from Ecuador, who entered through the trails located in Táchira and Zulia states, said the vice president on the daily balance of Covid-19 in Venezuela.

Up to date are reported 22,299 cases diagnosed in Venezuela, she assured, of which 12,246 have recovered satisfactorily, representing a recovery rate of 54%, thus leaving 9,958 active cases, of which 7,134 are being treated in hospitals, 2,456 in Integral Diagnosis Centers and 168 in Private Clinics.

She also recalled that 80% of the cases in Venezuela are asymptomatic, and called on the population, at the presence of any minimum symptoms, to assume to be infected from the disease and get isolated until the corresponding diagnostic tests prove otherwise.

The vice president also regretted the death of eight patients, including the death of Faustino Torella, Consul of Venezuela in Boa Vista (Brazil), who had to be mobilized by land back to Venezuela, as he did not receive the corresponding treatment for the disease in Brazil; With these cases, is reached the figure of 195 deaths due to Covid-19 in the country.

Lastly, she reported that 1,567,431 diagnostic tests have been carried out in Venezuela, which represents 52,248 tests per million inhabitant.
