National Constituent Assembly meets three years

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Mauro, sent a message through the Twitter social network to celebrate the third anniversary of the election of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC).

«We celebrate 3 years of the historic constituent popular victory. Despite threats and aggressions from the fascist right wing, the Venezuelan people elected the new ANC with the sovereign vote. Never again will coup violence reign! Peace is and will be our way», wrote the Head of State.

The ANC became the representative process of participatory democracy that is lived in the Bolivarian nation, and that began with the National Constitution approved in 1999.

The call for electing the ANC happened after the violent acts that, by the date of its call, were carried out by sectors of the extreme right wing in the country.

It was made up of 364 territorial constituents, eight indigenous and 181 sectoral, which were distributed in the sectors of peasant workers and fishermen, businessmen, pensioners, people with disabilities, students and communal councils and communes throughout the national territory.

One of the most outstanding achievements of the National Constituent Assembly is the Plan of the Homeland as an economic and social instrument, presented by President Hugo Chávez, and which is currently the program of the Government of Venezuela for the 2019-2025 administration.
