Venezuela salutes election of the new president of the Dominican Republic

The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela saluted on Monday the election of Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona as the new president of the Dominican Republic, after the election journey of this Sunday.

“President Nicolás Maduro, on behalf of the Venezuelan people, extends cordial congratulations to the people of the Dominican Republic and its president-elect Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona, for the successful celebration of the presidential elections on July 5,” said the Minister of Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, on the Twitter social network.

In this regard, the Venezuelan chancellor issued a statement in which the national executive vows to consolidate bilateral relations based on respect, cooperation and permanent communication with the new president elect.

“The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan people, extends cordial congratulations to the people of the Dominican Republic for the successful celebration of the presidential elections held this Sunday, July 5, 2020.

We highlight the courageous work of the electoral authorities and Dominican institutions during the civic and democratic process developed amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, guaranteeing popular participation and strict compliance with due security measures for health protection.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, congratulates the President-elect, Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona, and the Vice President-elect Raquel Peña de Antuña, for the democratic victory achieved.

The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela aspires to sustain bilateral relations based on respect, cooperation and permanent communication, consolidating Our Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace, union and prosperity.”
