The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, recalled the example of courage, solidarity, geniality and patriotism of the father of the Homeland, Simón Bolívar, during the ceremony to celebrate the 199th Anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo and Bolivarian Army Day, from the National Pantheon:
«To say Simón Bolívar, is to say a time to come, is to say a people in arms, Republic, Army and Liberators. We must make a consciousness of the founding process, the Liberator had shown that it was impossible to continue being tied to the savagery of the Spanish colony”, he said.
As Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, he confirmed his commitment to the ideals of the Homeland.
“You have in me a president committed to the ideals of the country, and that my pulse will never tremble to defend this sacred land that the liberators left us”, he sentenced.
In his speech he recognized the role of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, and mentioned General in Chief Vladimir Padrino López to whom he made an acknowledgement.
