111 new Covid-19 cases were confirmed this Sunday in Venezuela

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported this Sunday that 111 new Covid-19 infections have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 1,121.

18 cases are community transmissions; 73 imported from Colombia (69 entered through Apure state, three through Táchira and one through Zulia states) and 20 were infected by contact with travelers, “mainly security and health personnel”, said the Head of State in a contact with the commission in charge of coordinating the combat of Covid-19 meeting at Miraflores Palace, in Caracas.

Of the 1,121 cases registered throughout the national territory, only 278 cases are community infections, the remaining 843, specifically a75%, are imported cases. The figure of 10 deaths in the country from this virus remains.

Also regarding the imported cases, 674 were infected abroad and 169 correspond to personnel infected by travelers, and there are counted: 433 coming from Colombia; 95 coming from Brazil; 49 from Peru; 36 from Ecuador, among other nations, said the President.

He also noted that the number of recovered remains at 262 and that 475 of the patients are being treated in hospitals; 357 in Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and 17 in private clinics.
