Presidential Commission for Prevention of Covid-19 strengthens epidemiological fence at border crossings

The Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of Covid-19, requested to strengthen the epidemiological fence at border crossings, and for this purpose, a videoconference was held with the Governors and Protectors of the states in order to establish new health policies that prevent spread of the virus in the country.

The meeting was led by the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, from the Presidential Command Post of Miraflores Palace, where the authorities supervise the National Attention Protocols for Covid-19, adopted to ensure the security of the homeland amidst this global pandemic.

Up to date, 41,933 Venezuelans have returned to the country, specified as follows: by Táchira state 24,542, Apure 10,275, Bolívar 1,954, Amazonas 109, Zulia 4,753 and by La Guaira through flights of the “Vuelta a la Patria” (Return to the Homeland) Plan 300 people, of which 220 tested positive for Covid-19.

In this context, have been welcomed compatriots who were in countries such as Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Brazil have been received, and who return to their Homeland fleeing the xenophobia and social damage that Covid-19 has caused in those nations, motivated to erroneous or late measures in the fight against this infection.

The Bolivarian Government guarantees the fundamental Human Rights to the health of the nationals who return to the homeland, guaranteeing the protection and well-being of each one of them, applying the necessary health containment protocols in a personalized and free way, while protecting the population of the border states.
