Jorge Arreaza: US Government permanently violates the United Nations Charter

The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, called on the world last Thursday to hold on and defend the United Nations Charter, a document of great importance in these times of global crisis because it promotes international peace and security.

The statement was made by the Venezuelan diplomat during his participation in the eighth online forum, organized by the Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Jpsuv) with the theme: “The Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace in response to imperial aggression”, when referring to the constant violations of Human Rights by the United States Government against other nations.

In his presentation of ideas, the high-ranking official maintained that the Donald Trump administration embodies capitalism today more than ever “by breaking at all hours” the document signed by the member countries of the United Nations (UN), whose main purpose it is to maintain peace, security, promote respect and cooperation between peoples and their governments.

He described as incredible that it is the Government of that North American nation that violates this charter, after it was signed precisely in San Francisco, California. The Charter was signed on June 26, 1945 in San Francisco, at the end of the United Nations Conference on International Organization, and entered into force on October 24 the same year.

“We have the United States attacking the World Health Organization, they withdrew from Unesco, from the Human Rights Council because they do not believe in this, but we must force them to comply with the United Nations Charter, they signed it”, sentenced the Chancellor.

The head of the Foreign Relations office recalled that Venezuela maintains a Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace, seeking to maintain international security, fighting for the establishment of a multi-polar world that, based on the United Nations Charter, achieves the collective and harmonious development of the entire planet:

“We must guide the new model, how to relate, we must promote it from the UN, from CELAC. We are presented with an opportunity to think about the relations between the states, the world is in a great process of reflection”, he said, while warning that in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic that humanity is facing, the capitalism that the United States so much defends has exposed his great perversions.
