Venezuela will accept humanitarian aid from any country with WHO mediation

Venezuela will accept humanitarian aid from any country that wishes to collaborate in the fight against the Covid-19 coronavirus, through the mediation of the World Health Organization (WHO), said this Tuesday the President of the Bolivarian Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

In a videoconference with the Commission for the Prevention of Covid-19, which is held at Miraflores Palace in Caracas; the head of state responded to the position taken by the government of the United States (USA) in the United Nations (UN), in which he alleges that “Maduro does not accept the humanitarian aid” offered by the North American nation.

«The United States has been saying something. They said it today, that ‘Maduro does not accept any international aid’ What do you want to donate to Venezuela? With the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization (you can donate) any and everything you want”, said the National President.

In this sense, the Venezuelan president instructed the Minister for Communication and Information, Jorge Rodríguez; and the Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza; to execute all the necessary actions to start the procedures.

«We are open to receive any donation from any country in the world. All aid, all support, through WHO / PAHO is welcome. We have very clear priorities”, he said.

On the other hand, the head of state reiterated his call to all political sectors to participate in a great national dialogue, to reach a humanitarian agreement to combat the pandemic in the country.

“I continue making the call for a humanitarian agreement, I continue to ratify it. To you, leader of the opposition, to everyone, let’s go to a cease-fire. Let’s put the differences aside and go to an agreement”, he said.

Venezuela on Tuesday ruled out any new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, thus maintaining the figure of 329 infected, 142 recovered – representing more than 42% of active cases; and 10 deceased.
