National Dialogue Board refines details for parliamentary elections

“There are direct negotiations in the processes of dialogue with all the factors of the opposition and I have already informed to the party details of the dialogues that we have carried out to reach an agreement on electoral guarantees”, said the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, by detailing that the National Dialogue Board advances and continues its work to hold legislative elections, as established by the country’s supreme legal instrument.

On Tuesday night, the Head of State and Government stressed that the machinery of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), is preparing for the elections of the new National Assembly.

“This year the people with their vote will elect a new National Assembly (…) It will emerge from the vote of the people, national sovereignty and the exercise of political freedom,” said the Dignitary from the Poliedro de Caracas when leading the meeting with the National Directorate of the PSUV and the JPSUV.

He added that this will be an opportunity for “revenge because this town is going to take the thorn of the 2015 electoral defeat and it will charge the opposition its betrayal and failure in the National Assembly”.
