President Maduro commemorated 200 years of the Creation of Gran Colombia

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, commemorated the 200th anniversary of the creation of the Gran Colombia by the Angostura Congress.
“Today we are commemorating a date that had been thrown into oblivion (…) 200 years ago, the Liberator Simón Bolívar, approved by the constituent congress the fundamental law that founded the Gran Colombia, which united in a single political body what is today Venezuela, Colombia, Panama and Ecuador”, recalled the Dignitary during the delivery of the Liberator Award for Critical Thought, in the city of Caracas.
The Gran Colombia was created by the Angostura Congress in 1819 through the Fundamental Law of Colombia, ratified in 1821 with the promulgation of the Constitution by the Congress of Cúcuta.
This was one of the great dreams of Liberator Simón Bolívar, and it was made up by the territories of the Viceroyalty of Nueva Granada and the General Captaincy of Venezuela.
