TSJ guarantees protection to women victims of violence

The Venezuelan State guarantees the protection and access to justice for women victims of violence through the specialized jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), said on Monday its president, Maikel Moreno, regarding the International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women:
“Venezuela has made significant progress in this area, and a significant contribution has been the creation of specialized jurisdiction, composed of courts with jurisdiction over Crimes Against Women throughout our extensive national territory and with the hard work made by the Commission of Gender Justice, in favor of the eradication of this scourge, through the criminal sanction of those who are declared responsible after due process of law”, he said, as refers a press release.
Moreno stressed that the country has advanced in this area and has created a specialized structure to address this scourge, providing timely justice to Venezuelans and integrating the various state programs to promote prevention.
The magistrate indicated that through the Gender Justice Commission is being carried out a “hard work” in order to eradicate the aggression against the women and protect them, mainly with the application of the sanctions established by the laws, he said during the 2nd International Forum of Gender and Justice that took place at the headquarters of the high court in Caracas.
Likewise, he recalled that last October 31 was presented to the National Constituent Assembly a proposal to reform the Organic Law on the Right of Women to a Life Free of Violence, in order to strengthen the aforementioned text and guarantee the protection of women.
