Venezuela demands at the UN the cessation of US economic and financial terrorism against Cuba
Venezuela demanded the cessation of the economic and financial terrorism the United States (USA) has been holding against Cuba for more than a decade during the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization (UN) in which is being debated the draft resolution on the “Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”.
“Venezuela demands the cease of the economic and financial terrorism. It is from all points of view a criminal practice, it is a collective punishment that emanates from the pride of those who believe they own the world”, said from the speakers’ platform the Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza.
He added that “the blockade is an obsolete policy, which was intended to isolate the Caribbean island”.
He added that the Bolivarian nation “supports the just and legitimate resolution of the lifting of the criminal blockade imposed by the United States against the Cuban people” and “defends multilateralism as the path to a world of peace.”
The Venezuelan Chancellor also reiterated that “no action by the US bureaucracy will prevent Cuba and Venezuela from continuing to fight and conquer together”.
The Venezuelan diplomat recalled that there are 28 years in a row in which the General Assembly has called to demand the repeal of the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
The Bolivarian nation demanded to all UN instances to “assume with greater firmness, courage and rigor, not only the denunciation against any modality of arbitrary or disguised unilateral measures under a false collective multilateralism, but they propose and take concrete actions to stop these inhuman policies that desecrate the body and spirit of the United Nations”.
