Chancellor Arreaza sympathizes with US journalist harassed by Venezuelan right wing

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, this Tuesday showed solidarity with the American journalist Max Blumenthal, editor of The Grayzone newspaper, who was arrested last Friday after his coverage of the violent situation executed by the Venezuelan right wing outside the headquarters of the Venezuelan embassy in Washington:
“All our solidarity with the American journalist @MaxBlumenthal, harassed in the US by the Venezuelan coup-plotting right wing. It is unusual and dangerous for the US authorities to lend themselves to intimidate and persecute the independent press”, wrote Arreaza in his Twitter account, accompanied by an article by Misión Verdad (Mission Truth).
The article reported that Blumenthal was arrested “on accusations made and related to the siege of the Venezuelan embassy in Washington that occurred between April and May this year”.
After his arrest, the editor of The Grayzone denounced that this action is part of a “political persecution campaign designed to silence me and The Grayzone for our journalistic work based on facts with which we expose the deceptions, corruption and violence of the Venezuelan opposition of the extreme right wing”.
