Venezuela and Russia review agricultural cooperation agreements


Delegations of Venezuela and Russia reviewed agricultural cooperation agreements as part of the 46th Meeting of the FAO Committee on Food Security, held in Rome, capital of Italy.
The Minister of People’s Power for Productive Agriculture, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, on behalf of Venezuela, held a working meeting with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergey Levin, according to a press release.
At the meeting they also agreed that the Russian authorities will be invited by Venezuela to carry out a technical work visit to the Caribbean country in the coming days with the aim of advancing issues related to phytosanitary and zoo-sanitary regulations.
Likewise, they reviewed the commercial exchange of agricultural items maintained by both countries, as well as explored new joint projects with the purpose of continuing to deepen the bilateral relationship and contribute to the food sovereignty and independence of the Venezuelan people.
