Supported by the US, TIAR member countries threaten Venezuela

The member states of the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR) and belonging to the so-called Lima Group, insist on maintaining a rhetoric against Venezuela, threatening to take unilateral actions against Venezuelan government officials, in addition to the financial system and the oil industry of the nation.
Among the measures qualified as illegal by the Venezuelan government, a group of member countries of the TIAR contemplate to elaborate a list of people, allegedly linked in acts in corruption, drug trafficking and violation of human rights, to freeze their accounts and properties in the territories of the signatory States, as reviews Sputnik.
Likewise, they announced the creation of an operational team of financial intelligence and public security for legal actions and all available measures to investigate, punish, prosecute and capture.
For his part, the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, said that this resolution “has not any kind of legality or validity” because it is not certified by the United Nations Security Council: “They will not be able to intimidate Venezuela, we will continue with the people”, he said.
