The government of the United States of America (USA) opened on Wednesday the «Venezuela Affairs Unit» (VAU) at the headquarters of its embassy in Bogotá, Colombia, with the aim of continuing «the mission» that the North American nation has with the Venezuelan right wing.
According to an office by RT, the new office – which will have the support of the US Congress – will work to “restore democracy and constitutional order” in Venezuela, as agreed with the Venezuelan right wing, from last January 23, when a coup d’etat was perpetrated against the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
Through a statement, published by the US Department of State, it was reported that this office will be under the management of James Story, who held the position of Charge d’Affaires for the United States in Venezuela until last year when he offered interference statements against the institutions of the South American nation.
The creation of the VAU in Colombia – a country that has participated in different coup attempts against the Venezuelan head of state – takes place days after the Venezuelan right wing met with members of the administration of the US president, Donald Trump, as refers international media
