Venezuela rejects illegal application of new coercive measures by the Government of Canada

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejected on Monday the sanctions imposed by the Government of Canada against officials of the Venezuelan State.
Through a statement issued by the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, the Venezuelan State stressed that “In the desire to demonstrate fidelity to the imperial aggression against Venezuela, the Government of Justin Trudeau opts to blatantly violate International Law, sinking the historic relations of friendship between the Canadian and Venezuelan peoples”.
The text states that unilateral coercive measures nullify confidence in Canada as a mediator for dialogue, diplomacy, peace and respect for democracy in the region, following the “war adventure” of the US management.
In this sense, the Bolivarian government expressed repudiation and denounced the aggressions of the Canadian government and urged the international community to neutralize the actions of Washington and its satellites in the world against Venezuela.
