The Deputy Minister for the Caribbean, Raúl Li Causi and the Director General of Consular Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, signed agreements on immigration matters on Monday.
The information was released by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry through its website.
During the 4th Round of Migratory Conversations, on the negotiation process of two migratory agreements, the delegations of Venezuela and Cuba worked on two Understanding Memorandums, one on Immigration Matters and another one on the Exchange of Migratory Alerts and Security Information.
The agreements were made as “effective mechanisms for the control of migration and the fight against illegal trafficking and human trafficking”.
At the meeting, held in Caracas, the diplomats ratified the will and commitment of their governments to take joint actions to strengthen cooperation on the issue of migration in order to guarantee a flow of travelers in a regular, orderly and safe manner.
In June 2018, the last round of conversations on migration between Cuba and Venezuela took place in Havana, capital of the Caribbean island, with a similar trajectory.
