ANC approves to waive the parliamentary immunity of Juan Guaidó

The National Constituent Assembly (ANC) approved on Tuesday to waive the parliamentary immunity of the opposition deputy Juan Guaidó, which would mean the start of his trial.
The president of the plenipotentiary power, Diosdado Cabello, said that the ANC approves the request of the TSJ “so that there is justice in our country. That justice is necessary for the guarantee of peace”.
He stressed that within the very ranks of the opposition “they are happy because we are waiving his immunity.”
Regarding the possible consequences from the US, after the approval of the parliamentary waiving, Cabello said that the revolution “is not intimidated by the powerful, fortunately, here is a justice that does not depend on the US”.
Constituent Maria Leon, said that the parliamentary impeachment is, in her opinion, how should be treated those who “betray the country,” and also proposed the measure to be applied to other opposition deputies who are abroad, Julio Borges among them.
