Arreaza denounces new media operation against Venezuela

The Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, criticized on Thursday the position assumed by some governments and media that, intentionally violating the minimum requirements of Venezuelan law, send their journalists to cover various events in the country.
In his Twitter account, the official said that several of these foreign journalists have tried to access Miraflores Palace, without having the respective accreditation for that.
Many of these professionals, he continued, “have entered irregularly without previously fulfilling the respective application for work permits in our Consulates”, Arreaza wrote in a tweet published this Wednesday.
“International media and agencies know that in order to avoid unnecessary inconveniences, they must complete the necessary procedures at the Consulates, prior to their trip to the country”, he added.
He described this behavior as “another facet of the media operation against the country”, which is part of the campaign promoted by right-wing NGOs to accuse the Venezuelan State of violating the freedom of expression of press workers.
For its part, the Spanish Government has joined the campaign against Venezuela, denouncing the detention in Caracas of four members of the EFE news agency.

“It is unprecedented and irresponsible for the media to send journalists without complying with the minimum prerequisites required by Venezuelan law, and then to create a media scandal which their governments join. Another facet of the media operation against the country.”

“2/2 As in any other country in the world, journalists can not self-assign themselves an accreditation. International Media and Agencies know that, in order to avoid unnecessary inconveniences, they must complete the necessary procedures at the Consulates, prior to their trip to the country”.
