From the plenary chamber of the TSJ, with the right hand raised, Maduro swore before the Judicial Power to work in this new stage of the Bolivarian Revolution to give continuity to the project of Commander Hugo Chávez, generating the necessary conditions for the construction of Socialism of the 21st century .
“I swear on behalf of the people of Venezuela, on behalf of the legacy of our ancestors and the great Cacique Guaicaipuro; I swear by Negro Primero and our Afro-descendant peoples; I swear by the Liberator Simón Bolívar and the liberating armies of our Americas; I swear by the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez; I swear by the children of Venezuela; that I will not rest my arm nor give repose to my soul, and that I will fulfill and enforce all the postulates and mandates of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, to seek to defend the independence and absolute integrity of the country and to seek to bring economic social prosperity to our people and build the Socialism of the 21st century”.
After being sworn in, the Presidential Band and the Key of the Ark Necklace were imposed to him as part of the act of assuming the mandate for this new presidential term.
