Maduro commemorated 26 years of the rebellion of November 27, 1992

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted on Tuesday that within the framework of the 98th anniversary of the Aviation of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, are commemorated 26 years of November 27, 1992, a date in which brave men plowed the sky to fly the flags of hope and dignity of the people.

This was stated from his official account on the Twitter social network. As it will be recalled, are being met 26 years of the Civic-Military Revolt against the “puntofijismo” (*) and the neoliberal economic measures imposed by former president Carlos Andrés Pérez in 1992.

Both February 4 and November 27, 1992 represented the awakening of the people, becoming the starting point of the Bolivarian Revolution.

(*) The “Punto Fijo Pact” (from where the “puntofijismo” term arises), refers to the bi-partisan alternability pact signed in the 60s between the two right wing parties Acción Democrática and COPEI, which ruled the country from 1958 until 1998. It took place in former president Rafael Caldera’s house, which beared the “Punto Fijo” name, and not at the town of Punto Fijo in Falcon State, as it may seem.
