Venezuela congratulates the French people for the 229th anniversary of the takeover of the Bastille

On July 14, 1789, took place the takeover of the Bastille, Paris, by Parisian revolutionaries, an event that represented symbolically the end of the old regime and the beginning of the French Revolution. The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated the French people for the anniversary of this heroic feat.

“The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Government and the Venezuelan people extends his sincere and fraternal congratulations to the People of the French Republic, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 229th anniversary of the revolutionary and heroic struggle of the Gallic People for reconciliation and unity, evoked as the Takeover of the Bastille.

    On this special date, the Bolivarian Government takes the opportunity to recall the origin of our stories, which converge in the principles of Venezuelan independence, in which the participation of Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda stands out essentially in the revolutionary battles of France and Venezuela.

    The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, on the occasion of the National Day of the French Republic, ratifies its will to continue united by the historical bonds that allow the strengthening of the relations of friendship and mutual respect for the common benefit of our Peoples.
