Maduro: Venezuela is articulating to the world that is emerging and that wants development

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, offered statements to the media after participating in the inauguration of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, highlighting the progress in bilateral relations between the two nations.

Maduro congratulated the Turkish people for their democratic behavior, and vowed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two governments over the next few years:

“It has been extraordinary the inauguration of President Erdogan (…) we are strengthening relations that are accelerated and go very well in the trade cooperation, cooperation in the field of gold, in the supply of oil. I believe that the relationship with Turkey begins to be a model for the new stage of what Venezuela needs, a win-win relationship of mutual benefit, and also its businessmen are willing to come and invest in Venezuela”, he said.

“It is a new world where we respect each other, we treat each other as equals, we love each other, where there is nobody pretending to be an empire that dominates the other; on the contrary, we want to cooperate, to contribute our capacity to work (…) We from Latin America teaching what we are, and Turkey from Euroasia teaching its long history, so it is something very beautiful what we are seeing getting concrete in relations between Turkey and Venezuela”, he said.

The National President also held meetings with the Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitri Medvedev, where it was evaluated the development of a High Level Mixed Commission between the two countries: “Very soon we will have the visit of the Russian commission to Venezuela. We reviewed aspects of the energy, financial, and military cooperation”, he said.

The Head of State also held a meeting with the Emir of Qatar to renew the cooperation issues between the two countries.
