Venezuela sent 12 tons of supplies for humanitarian aid to Cuba

Venezuela sent a total of 12 tons of supplies to provide humanitarian aid to Cuba to serve the population affected by the passage of Tropical Storm Alberto, which left four people dead and more than a hundred evacuees.

A shipment of food and essential goods supervised by the Minister of People’s Power for Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace, Néstor Reverol, departed on Thursday to Cuban territory in an aircraft of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) from the Simón Bolívar International Airport, in Maiquetía, Vargas state.

“Here is the Venezuelan people ratifying our commitment to integration; This equipment is a tangible expression of the moral, ethical and spiritual support of the solidarity that characterizes brotherly peoples such as Cuba and Venezuela”, said the senior official.

In response, the Cuban ambassador to Venezuela, Rogelio Polanco, thanked the Bolivarian Government for its solidarity gesture, indicating that humanitarian aid means a helping hand in times of difficulties for the population that needs it the most.
