Venezuela and Cuba maintain ties of unity to consolidate the sovereignty of the peoples

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, informed from Miraflores Palace that Venezuela and Cuba maintain ties of unity to consolidate the sovereignty of the peoples of the region.

“Here we are ratifying this path of sacrifice, work of martyrs, of great history, of feelings that move us. Here we are the sons of (Simón) Bolívar, of (José) Martí, and the sons of Fidel (Castro) and (Hugo) Chávez)”, he said after meeting with the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, at Miraflores Palace.

He pointed out that this path was drawn by leaders such as the Liberator Simón Bolívar, as well as José Martí who fought for the unity, freedom and the sovereignty of the peoples of Latin America.

He stressed that thanks to Commander Hugo Chávez and the revolutionary Fidel Castro, this struggle gained strength with the establishment of international bodies such as the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA), in which actions are taken against poverty and social inequality .

“It is the historic path taken up by Fidel from the Sierra Maestra itself and then made real with his son Hugo Chávez, father and son joined, the two giants that life gave us the privilege of knowing and living with them, their dreams and greatness”, he added.

Maduro reiterated his solidarity with Cuba and urged the Executive Vice President, Tareck El Aissami, to coordinate measures to support the Cuban people, especially in light of the storm season affecting this Caribbean country.

Díaz-Canel arrived in Venezuela this Wednesday morning and has participated in different activities. The President of Cuba went to the National Pantheon where he honored the Father of the Homeland and then led a session of the National Constituent Assembly.
