President Maduro handed Liberators Award to his Cuban counterpart

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, delivered on Wednesday the Liberators Award in its first class to his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, in an act held in the Sol del Perú Hall of Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, after a private meeting between the two Presidents to strengthen relations between both nations,

Díaz-Canel said that the awarding of this decoration is a fair acknowledgement to the Cuban people who have followed the deed of José Martí and the Liberator Simón Bolívar for the independence of both peoples.

“I interpret this as an act of solidarity towards me and of a fair acknowledgement to the Cuban people, who have had in their glorious and sacrificial pages the deeds of Bolivar and Marti to make the dreams of independence and freedom of these heroes a reality”, he said.

The Cuban leader assured that his nation is consolidated in the commitment to continue advancing in the joint projects and continue showing signs of solidarity between both countries, for the well-being of their peoples: “I reaffirm that no matter how big the difficulties and challenges may be, you can rely on Cuba today and always”, he said.

He highlighted the commitment that Cuban leaders Fidel and Raúl Castro had to consolidate relations of brotherhood with the Bolivarian Revolution, and added that Venezuela will always be able to count on Cuba in its great challenges.
