Maduro announces creation of a new fund for local and regional development

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced on Monday the creation in bolivars and Petros to finance local and regional projects.

“I am prepared, I have the resources and I announce the creation of a special investment fund for local and regional development in bolivars and petros, which will be activated based on projects”, said the National President during the Federal Government Council, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.

The Executive Vice President, Tareck El Aissami, indicated that there are seven essential items for food development in the country, including white corn, yellow corn, rice, sugar cane, coffee, caraotas (black beans) and cocoa.

He pointed out that with the production of these seven items, Venezuela would generate its independence and agro-alimentary sovereignty. There are also items that have potential for export and thus generate new sources of foreign currency.

In that sense, the Head of State called on the productive sectors of the country to work together with the Venezuelan State for the benefit of the people.

“I want to connect with all the productive sectors and tell them: you have a great ally in me”, he emphasized.
